For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. (1 Corinthians 12:13)

Tymber Smith is Baptized!

tymberTymber Smith, a teen transitioning into the Campus ministry, has been coming to North River and studying the Bible for over a year. She tarted coming because her sister, Michelle Smith in the EDGE ministry, invited her. She fought so hard to make the Bible her standard – not her emotions. She has overcome so much in her life and is excited to be walking with God and be part of His kingdom. Her heart for God and her passion for Him are truly inspiring. Everyone who knows Tymber knows what an encouragement and a joy she is. We are so happy she is our sister.

Tasha Morris is baptized!

tashamorrisTasha Morris, like many of us, grew up in a religious family and tried for years to live her life according to God’s word. She loves people and is very kind, but she knew that something was missing in her life. God has been pursuing her for years and led her to Atlanta in a job with CHOA. Tasha became roommates with longtime friend, Nancy Muriel, and immediately started coming to church and attending personal Bible studies. From the beginning, she said she wanted a better relationship with God. She did not want to make a decision quickly or for the wrong reason as she had done in the past. She took advantage of every opportunity to worship and fellowship and also continued to study, pray, and seek understanding. God answered her prayers and on Sunday, June 1, Tasha Morris was baptized into the family of Christ and made Jesus lord of her life. We are excited to have her join our family and become our sister.

Blair Bodiford is baptized!

blairBlair Bodiford, Walton High School junior, was baptized into Christ on Friday afternoon! This is a young woman of integrity who started studying the Bible with our Teen Ministry last year after being reached out to by Beth Heller and Emily Casazza at school. Blair has grown to be what Jesus calls a “true worshipper in spirit and truth,” she really developed a heart to drop whatever it was in her life that did not match up with Scripture. We are so proud to call this jewel our sister and pray you have the opportunity to “spur her on toward love and good deeds” very soon!

Josue Briones is baptized!

josueMeet Josue Briones! Josue is a sophomore at Kennesaw State University. He was reached out to in early March on campus when invited to a Bible discussion. Josue immediately sought out a deeper relationship with God after seeing that life without God wasn’t enough. When learning what the Scriptures say about following Christ, Josue did a complete 180 and dove into repentance. He was baptized Wednesday, April 30 at North River alongside a whole new generation of young brothers and sisters baptized in the campus ministry this semester. Josue’s humility is impressive and he has expressed since the beginning of his race that nothing would get in the way of his relationship with God.

David Miranda is baptized!

divid-mirandaDavid Miranda was baptized on Wednesday night! He is a sophomore studying civil engineering at Georgia Tech. He met Ben Ceron when they both played intramural soccer. David humbled himself to the Scriptures and no matter what he has heard or done in his past, he decided that if the Bible says it then he has to obey. Welcome our new brother to the kingdom!

Rachel Hawkins is baptized!

RachelbaptizedRachel Hawkins is a junior at Woodland High in Cartersville who is well known for her sweet personality, competitive gymnastics skills and her striking resemblance to Disney’s Merida from the movie “Brave.” Now, however, her greatest asset is the fact that she is a “souled-out” disciple of Christ because Rachel was baptized this past Sunday! Years ago when her family moved from California back to Georgia, Rachel attended the Swamp, met some of our kids and asked her parents if they could attend North River. They agreed to commute an hour each way every Sunday and Wednesday! The faith of her parents, Bryan and Connie, has been such an inspiration to Rachel. This young lady demonstrated such sincere, biblical repentance while studying the Bible, and she is resolved to have that commitment until she reaches heaven!
