The North River Church of Christ is a non-denominational church filled with members who are committed to a close relationship with God based firmly on the Bible.
The teachings of Jesus and the New Testament are rich with meaning and have application to every area of our lives. We can spend a lifetime studying the Bible and still not grasp or understand all the magnificent truths of living as a disciple of Jesus. But becoming a Christian and beginning our lifelong walk with Jesus is a fairly straightforward, easily understood decision.
What do the members of the North River Church of Christ believe?
Though not an exhaustive list dealing with every area of our lives, the following are some of the essential beliefs we hold and some biblical references for each topic:
That all we see bears witness and gives evidence of intelligent creation, thus we believe in God as the creator. (Genesis 1:1, Isaiah 42:5, Colossians 1:16)
That the 66 books of the Bible are inspired by God and provide a God-ordained pattern for living our lives and learning about Jesus. (2 Timothy 3:16)
Jesus Christ was the one and only Son of God, as he claimed. He walked upon the earth, was crucified and three days later rose from the dead. (John 2:15, John 14:6)
God’s plan, taught by Jesus, was that His followers would be called out from societies in which we live into a common community called the church of Christ. (Colossians 1:13-20, Romans 16:16)
