Thrive: Heart for the Poor

Let's pour our hearts out the communiity together! We have several amazing opportunities to serve and meet the needs of our communities, showimng them the heart, hands, and feet of Jesus.

Thrive ministry is partnering with some great local organizations to meet needs in a loving and safe way. We won't all be able to serve together at one single event, but we've found a couple options where you all can volunteer on February 27th. 

Here's an option to serve virtually! Meals on Wheels delivers food to seniors, but they would love to include a hand-written card with the meals. The link has a more thorough description of where to mail the cards. (Link below). This is a great opportunity to encourage a senior with some uplifting and kind words. 

Atlanta mission is collecting critically. - needed items for men, woman and children. THEY CANNOT ACCEPT JUST ANY ITEM. The link has a list of items that are needed and desired. 

Hands on Atlanta is Partners for Home which brings public and private recourses together to create and implement strategic plans to have homelessness rare. They have rented out two hotels to house the elderly and homeless and are looking for volunteers to come in and help prepare meals. This is an in person event which has 3 time slots available. 

Breakfast: 6:30-8:30am

Lunch: 12pm-2pm 

Dinner: 5:30-7:30pm 

There are two spots available for each time slot. If you feel compelled, please sign up to go and serve. 

This is the first of many events, and I know that whichever Service event you choose to partake in God is going to use it to touch the hearts and lives of those we are serving. We encourage you to partner with someone to write your cards, rrop off items or go serve in person.
