A Fast Start To 2022

Supplemental reflections during fasting

SUN Jan. 9 — The Power of God is working in my life

His divine power has given us everything needed for life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. (2 Peter 1:3)

MON Jan. 10 — God is mindful of us and will bless those who fear him

The Lord has been mindful of us; he will bless us;

 he will bless the house of Israel;
    he will bless the house of Aaron;
13 he will bless those who fear the Lord,
    both small and great.

14 May the Lord give you increase,
    both you and your children.
15 May you be blessed by the Lord,
    who made heaven and earth. (Ps. 115:12-16)

TUES Jan. 11 — I will believe God for greater strength

Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
    the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
    his understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the faint,
    and strengthens the powerless.
30 Even youths will faint and be weary,
    and the young will fall exhausted;
31 but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength,
    they shall mount up with wings like eagles,
they shall run and not be weary,
    they shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:28-31)

 WED Jan. 12 — God is meeting all my needs

The young lions suffer want and hunger,
    but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. (Psalm 34:10)

THURS Jan. 13 — I will walk in the love of God…I desire him above all others and all things

Do not love the world or the things in the world. The love of the Father is not in those who love the world; for all that is in the world—the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, the pride in riches—comes not from the Father but from the world. And the world and its desire[f] are passing away, but those who do the will of God live forever. (1 John 2:15-17)
