Our sister Patria Brown recently competed with applicants from around the state of Georgia and won an award for her story of persevering to obtain her GED as an adult. Tria had to overcome many obstacles, as well as balancing the demands of work, volunteering and motherhood (she has six kids and is currently raising her granddaughter!) at the same time. Tria is a woman of great faith and an example of someone who lives out Phil 4:13. Tria will be speaking at the state capital, Technical graduations throughout the state of Georgia, and as a result of her title, will receive a full ride scholarship to college. We rejoice with our sister, Tria!
Last week, we sadly had to cut down several dying trees on our church campus. Apparently, these trees have a 40 year life span, and they were planted when the church was built about 45 years ago. We will hopefully be able to plant some new trees in the near future.
