In light of shepherding the church during this political season, as the debate and election are upon us, here are some brief spiritual principles to help guide and focus our thoughts as a spiritual family.

"I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority...for there is one God" (1 Tim. 2:1-2, 5)

We encourage everyone during this tumultuous time:

  • Pray, for both sides. (1 Tim 2:1-8)
  • Above all, love. Love is humble and quick to listen. (James 1:19-20, 1 Peter 4:8, 1 Cor 13:1-8)
  • Find a scripture to root you in love and faith instead of fear. (2 Cor 5:6-10, 1 John 4:7-21)

Wherever you are, the elders and staff are here to support and pray with you. You can reach the elders at elders@nrcoc.com.
