Why 180?  In the world of sports, we see professional, amateur and even youth sports putting a huge emphasis on winning at all costs. This compromises the integrity of competition, especially when it comes to the heart of winning and losing with class.  In 180 Sports, we set our minds to see God turn that philosophy around...180 degrees ...and head toward Him in these areas!   We believe that competing with maximum effort, as well as displaying an attitude of humility and integrity, is what will set us apart.

“Whatever you do work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” (Colossians 3:23)

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather in humility value others above yourselves.” (Philippians 2:3)

The North River Sports Ministry is an opportunity for the Spirit of God to help disciples of Christ grow in their leadership, form stronger intergenerational relationships and create effective and specific avenues of outreach.

Many of our North River members love sports and possess a passion to use their training and knowledge in sports to make a difference in the lives of many.

Sports creates memories, exposes and builds character, and forges deep bonds. Coaches have an invaluable impact on the development of character. Imagine the impact of having Christians coaching, mentoring, leading devotionals, encouraging, helping, and raising up our own youth.

Sports is a unique tool God uses to bond competitors and rivals in a common goal.  When two people have competed hard, there is a level of respect and connection that develops, creating lasting, positive effects on all types of relationships.  Ultimately, we pray for 180 Sports to be a vessel God uses to strengthen His people and to reach those not yet in a saving relationship with Him!

“If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.” (2 Timothy 2:21)
