The goal of this FGL is to continue/foster a conversation about how we are to relate to God, from Jordan’s lesson, and to examine the areas in our lives where our walks have felt more religious and passive than relational and dynamic.

Ask, Seek, Knock - Jesus calls us into a continuous life of walking with and seeking God’s face. He calls us to be a people who intimately Know Him, not just people who know His commands. When we choose to only walk in accordance with his commands, we can find ourselves living passively, trapped in a religious box. While it can be comfy, it isn’t the type of life God intends for His people.

Continue Readinding in (Matthew 7:9-11)

Jesus wants us to have an intimate and a dynamic life with God. The box of religion however can prevent this. It can pervert our views of God. We can end up seeing God as either a Task Master, the Big Vending Machine in the sky, or an Absent Parent instead of as a loving and caring Father.

  1. How do you view God in your life/how can you tend to view God in your life?

The promise of relationship with God is that He will reveal Himself if we continue to seek Him. Whenever God makes promises, it’s an opportunity for us to truly see and know the character of God.

  1. Are there any promises in Scripture that reminds you of who God truly is?

When we know the character of God and entrust ourselves to who He is, we can find it easier to seek  and walk with Him no matter what life may throw at us. This is the beauty of relationship.
