Bearing Good Fruits

The goal of this discussion is to shed light on God’s view of false prophets and how to identify them. Here we will also discuss how the fruits of our decisions are a reflection of the wisdom applied in our life.

Have you ever felt like a message that was preached towards you came from a place of deceit or manipulation? Was this something that you realized in that moment or later on down the road?

Mathew 7:15-20

God shares about how false prophets fight to share their message over his and that they do not spend time/stand in the council of the Lord before their messages are preached. When you are sharing a message, giving advice, or counciling others do you spend time with the Lord on those matters in your personal life and invite others to when sharing wisdom with them?

Jeremiah 23:18-18

God’s job in our lives is to cut down false prophets in our lives. Our job is to spiritually discern false prophets from true prophets by observing the fruit of their lives/message. Is spiritual discernment something you feel is in your strengths?

Mathew 7:16-20

Learning to look beyond the surface and observe the fruit requires time and proximity. Sometimes in order for fruit to grown, seasons are required. What kind of fruit has grown in the lives of your council grown? What kind of fruit has grown in your own life?

Call to Action

  • In Mathew 7:15-20, we are called to stand in the council of the Lord. This week find time to council with God on decisions you need to make in your personal lives. Ask God to make his will known to you and to give you the strength and courage to carry out what his call for you is.
